Law firm Jurvneshservice represented as a defendant its client Transport and Forwarding company UkrInterExpedition which was sued by a carrier. The key issue of the case was UkrInterExpedition’s right to set-off which was disputed by the carrier that lost the cargo during the transportation. UkrInterExpedition had to compensate its client lost cargo and made compensation was stated as set-off. The Ukrainian law and Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (CMR), 1956, has been applied. The case was considered by three judges and the relief sought has not been satisfied.

Anna Tsirat, a partner to Jurvnveshservice has successfully finished a range of administrative cases in favor of her client New World Grain Ukraine at the Kyiv courts (County Administrative Court of the city of Kyiv and Kyiv Appeal Administrative Court) this November. Dr. Tsirat has cancelled decisions of the tax authorities as to accrual of fines for almost of USD 1 million in total.
